I FINALLY VISITED SOMEONE ELSE'S TOWN IN ANIMAL CROSSING CITY FOLK. AND I HAD MY FIRST VISITOR TO MINE. i've had this game for like 5 months and never left my town before. the dude that i visited had sweet star wars patterned pathways and brought me tons of fruit to plant trees with. now i totally want the mic so i can be a complete 14 year old who never leaves the house and talks to strangers over their wii console.

+ got my hair cut by kara this morning, yay
+ gyro for lunch (substituted hummus for tziki sauce)
+ springsteen concert tonight. not in the mood now, but i know i will have a blast like last time.
+ nan's being released from the hospital today; she's in much better spirits/health than before.
+ i love the miike snow and new royksopp albums. i'm always in the mood for good, mindless music in the spring and summer.

- mac charged my card for my order THREE TIMES. i called and bitched at them today and the girl said she'd reverse the charges but it will take 7 days. she also said she'd stop shipment on the 2 extra orders being sent out. get a goddamn flip.
- this is my last friday off for the entire summer ;____________;

somehow, like... immediately after i posted my two shitty rufus wainwright photos on flickr, they got linked from the rufus boards for last night's show and got 75 views each. thanks, flickr stats. you allow me to see who's looking at my shit.

the show was pretty great; it was in such a TINY venue...and the seats weren't even all filled. we were in the FOURTH row, center. his aunt sloan opened and it was kinda like...artsy mom acoustic music, if that makes sense. not my thing, but it was okay. when rufus came out it was just him at the piano. he occasionally got up and played guitar for some songs. his aunt came out and sang on a few songs with him. it was pretty neat, really intimate...he was crazy tired because he sat in traffic for four hours because of an accident the night before and only got home at 6 am. so he was hilarious and rambling the entire time, he talked about bea arthur and told a funny story about getting to meet her. all in all a good evening, definitely a once in a lifetime sort of thing getting to see him in such a tiny place. he played lots of older stuff...california, cigarettes and chocolate milk, sally ann, millbrook, beauty mark, complainte de la butte, hallelujah (awesome). he also played the art teacher which ruled because i absolutely love that song. one of the last songs he played was leaving for paris.

oh MAN, this was good. it not only ruled because of the endlessly twisting seedy political story, but the whole underlying slow death of newspapers angle that was a lot of the backbone. other points of interest: i love movies set in dc for nostalgic reasons and jason bateman plays a total creepshow.

lol, netflix upgraded their 'taste preference' suggestions on their homepage so now when i log in it lists categories for me such as "cerebral foreign horror movies" and "cult and sci-fi fantasy from the 1980's"...love it.

also "local favorites" for lebanon, pa include THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE. wtf.

i just finished season one of the wire. it's a slow burn, but i'm loving it. i also think dominic west aka jimmy mcnulty is a hot babe even though he has a weird frog mouth. i also remember thinking he was really hot as the creepy rapist that gets stabbed in 300.
